Orthogonal Experimental Study on Crack Resistance of Biochar and Sisal Fiber Composite Improved Expansive Soil

Desiccation shrinkage is a key factor contributing to the engineering hazards in expansive soil. To inhibit initiation and expansion of cracks, composite improvement approach using biochar sisal fibers was applied soil from Nanning, Guangxi. An orthogonal test method employed conduct desiccation cracking tests on improved soil, investigating effects crack length, ratio width. The results indicate that different proportions can effectively development. content primary affecting while mainly development average optimal proportion for found be 6‰ 3 cm 4% biochar. study findings provide new controlling problems caused by cracking.
